Graston/Back on Track

What is Graston Technique?

Graston technique is a form of manual therapy known as soft tissue instrument, assisted mobilization. This manual therapy approach uses instruments with a specialized form of massage and gently scraping the skin. This therapy is designed to help identify the area of restriction and make an effort to break up scar tissue.

Graston Technique Goals

General goals of this therapy are to reduce your pain and increase function through a combination of:

  • Fascia restrictions that are typically associated with some form of trauma to the soft tissue and breaking down the scar tissue.
  • Promoting an improved healing environment for the injured soft tissue.
  • Reducing restrictions by stretching connective tissue in an attempt to re-position the structure of the soft tissue being treated.
